7.) Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Hopefully you will win a lottery and live on some exotic island by then. However, your interviewer wants to hear about different things. You must give an answer in terms of your professional goals such as improving your present skills and learning new things. If you are applying for sales position, you want your sales to increase significantly in the next 5 years. Probably people who work in technical field see themselves working on projects where they will use innovative techniques in the future. Your answer depends on your professional occupation and future plans.

8.) What are your salary requirements?

This is one of the most difficult interview questions. You don’t want to overprice yourself, but at the same time you would like to get the best possible salary offer. There is no ideal answer. Initially you can tell them that if company wants to hire you, you can come to a reasonable agreement. If interviewer is pressing you for a figure, you can mention a salary range that would be acceptable to you depending on benefits such as medical insurance and savings plan.

You must base your salary requirements on such important things as your present income, your interest in particular employer, benefits and job proximity

9.) Do you have any questions for us?

Usually this question is asked at the end of the interview. It would be a mistake to say that you don’t have any questions. Your prospective employer may think that you are not interested. You can ask about company future plans or projects you will be involved in. Ideally you should prepare some questions about the company or position you applied for before the interview.

By the end of the interview you probably know if you want to work for the company. If you do, you must mention that you are interested in opportunity to work for this firm. One should also remember name of the interviewer so that you can write a personalized thank you letter to a person who interviewed you.

The key to a successful interview is a thorough preparation. You must think about how to answer questions mentioned in this article. In addition, you have to prepare for additional questions that may be asked during the interview by reading more articles and thinking about issues related to your professional field. It would be helpful to talk to people who were interviewed recently even if they work in different industry.
